DANIEL JUAREZ - BIOGRAPHY

Daniel was born in Talavera de la Reina on November 12, 1992, in a middle class family. His father instilled passion for music and especially for the Jazz, in the 80's it was a percussionist in a dance band. From a very young, his father put in your home records of the great interpreters of Latin Jazz and Jazz as Chick Corea, George Benson, Paquito D'Rivera, Dizzy Gillespie, Tito Puente, Spyro Gyra, Weather Report, Gato Barbieri, Dexter Gordon, Michel Camilo, Arturo Sandoval, Charlie Parker, etc. At 9 years old sax Daniel discovers that his father kept in a box, then decided to learn to play this instrument and asked to enroll in music school. Thus at 10 years start taking classes with Oscar Iris saxophone and musical language classes Sacristan Elena. His teacher sees the potential that Daniel treasures and puts as the first alto sax in the "Youth Big Band jazz players." His innate condition improviser, making just 11 years to take care of all alone. With the Big Band debuted to the public, in the III Festival de Jazz Ciudad de Talavera (2005). Without having turned 14, Daniel with John Manzo (bass), Victor Diaz (drums) and Rocio Aparicio (piano), formed the group "Jo-Jazz Quartet" . With "Jo-Jazz Quartet," performed in the V, VI and VII Festival de Jazz Ciudad de Talavera in 2007, 2008 and 2009. He also joins the group as tenor sax "Standards Project." This group is led by Professor Oscar Iris, and consists of three saxophones, a trombone, guitar, piano, bass and drums. This group also operates in the VI Festival de Jazz Ciudad de Talavera (2008). With pianist Mario Godson form the duo "Jazz & Bossa" to act in small clubs in the city and surrounding areas. With Mario accompanying the veteran guitarist and vocalist Jaime Marques, at the VIII Festival de Jazz Ciudad de Talavera (2010). Has recently been integrated into a saxophone quartet formed by Oscar Iris, he and two former students of the music school, called Diego Calvo and Dominic Oliver. On the other hand, Daniel is part of the accompanying on tour, the singer Javier Godson.
In 2010, Daniel has assembled a new quartet called "Black Market" and is made by Daniel sax, Mario Godson on piano, Manuel Alejo Felipe Noel on bass and on drums. On the other hand Daniel leads his own quartet which bears his name and that acts in the XXVII International Jazz Festival of Madrid (2010). Daniel has recently become part of the Big Band Orchestra Miguel Blanco called Aphrodisia.

Daniel has in its curriculum with a long history of performances alongside the likes of: Jaime Marques , Luis Pastor, Curro Cueto, Oscar Avila, Omar Felipe Merchan, Ismael Dorado, Ocara Iris D2 Jazz group, The Bob Sands Big Band, The Creative Big Band, Big Band de El Escorial, etc. And he has shared the bill at festivals in Jazz, with artists and groups like: Jaime Marques, Michel Camilo, Bob Sands, Chano Domínguez, Israel Sandoval, Doris Cale, Nicole Henry, Eddie Henderson, Sonny Fortune, Wall Big Band, Craetiva Big Band, Velma Powell, Bobby Martinez Quintet, Javier Godson, Tennessee, Marta Sanchez Trio, Fractal, Sheryl Walters, La Calle Caliente, Perico Sambeat, etc. Currently preparing its entry into the Conservatory of Jazz, tenor sax taking classes Bobby Martinez and Bob Sands (for more information on Bobby Martinez) click on the link below: http://www.myspace.com/bobbymartinezlatinelation . Bobby and Bob Sands learn improvisation techniques, jazz phrasing and flute. At the request of Bobby becomes part of The Big Band Creative Madrid. He completed his training taking piano lessons with German Professor Kucich and harmony with Professor Eva Gancedo. Daniel also plays a self-taught on bass, drums, flute and shells (shells of the Caribbean), and has some own issues that are part of the repertoire of their groups, as For the themes: "Midnight Blues", "Dr. Link", "Your Eyes", "Whispers", "Samba To My Latin Masters" and Exploring.

also recorded in April 2009, with the group Jo-Jazz Quartet CD entitled "Stop Daydreaming." In this CD Daniel brings his own composition, dedicated to Latin teachers who most influenced in its short career, these are Bobby Martinez and Paquito D'Rivera. The issue is titled custión, "Samba to my latin masters." Recently, he recorded a live show at the XV Festival Internacional de Jazz de Ciudad Lineal with quartet, entitled "Live In Madrid" and has participated in recording a CD of drummer "Carlos Sagi" and recording the latest CD cel group "No Reply."
