Brief history of the group:
The group was founded in early 2000 in the city of Cordoba, from the concerns of Daniel "Sa" Figueroa (San Jorge, Santa Fe), Marcelo Gaibiso, Jorge Salum and Jose Maria Casas Moral (all members in February 1999, the last formation of the Vocal Group "Fifth Harmony" was founded by Eduardo " Black "Pelliza) who, wishing to continue with the vocal performance of the folk music of Argentina under its own, decide to form a new group, Jorge Salum soon be leaving for personal and incorporated Adriana Rodriguez and Hugo Gonzalez, leaving structure and formed a quintet with the Vocal Group "
debut in late April 2001 at the Teatro del Libertador Córdoba City, in the framework of the celebration of 50 Years of the Casal Català de Córdoba.
mid 2002 Adriana Rodriguez decides to travel to Europe and settled in France being replaced by tenor Hector Acevedo through 2005, leaving the group and its place is covered with the return of Jorge Salum .
In September 2006, changed the name of the group and was renamed Vocal Group "Quintessence" . Finally, in early 2007, Daniel Figueroa left the band and was replaced by Federico Senesi.
During its existence, besides the aforementioned Teatro del Libertador, was presented in different scenarios, highlighting the performances in the Casona Municipal Arts Café Adagio, the Casal Català Discepolín (now defunct), and Galileo .
Musical Characteristics:
The repertoire consists of folk themes of clearly Argentine composers alternating well known and classic, with other less publicized but no less force. The Group intends to extend a tradition of song generated in the decade of the 60/70, where the most important role is responsible for five voices conjugated with harmonies of quartet and quintet to the accompaniment of guitar, keyboard and percussion, with special emphasis on the face of interpretation.
Much of the musical arrangements belong to Daniel "Sa" Figueroa, while others correspond to Marcelo Gaibiso, and Eduardo "Black" Pelliza.
In regard to the direction musical group was led by Daniel "Sa" Figueroa until he retired and since that time, Marcelo Jorge Salum Gaibiso and dealing with such a delicate task.
Called the "Piedra y Camino" has been recently released his first CD, (composed of 12 different musical rhythms of Argentine folk music).
